Activated alumina is an excellent all-purpose desiccant for drying air and most other gases with high relative humidities. It is good in applications operating at lower pressures and temperatures below 100F.  It is highly durable and resistant to liquid cracking and so it is prefered to use as a water buffer. Dewpoints of -100 degree Farenheit can be achieved (depending on dryer). Activated alumina can be used in both heated and heatless/pressure.
